With so many whitening products available at your local grocery store, or through your dentist, it’s easy to achieve a whiter and brighter smile. Many patients wonder though, how safe teeth whitening is for the health of their teeth and enamel? Dr. Aman Sabharwal wants to assure you that today’s whitening products are very safe for your teeth, especially when you whiten you teeth under the supervision of your dentist. Here are some of the whitening services you’ll find at Family Dentistry & Implant Center , and why they’re safe for you.

IN-OFFICE WHITENING FOR QUICK RESULTS

The whitening products that Dr. Sabharwal has access to contain high strength ingredients that are not only designed to work more effectively, but also produce less sensitivity than whitening products available at the drug store. Our in-office system is delivered in a way that protects your gums and other soft tissues from the excess whitening gel that can cause injury.

At Family Dentistry & Implant Center, we use the ZOOM! whitening system for in-office treatment. We’ll start by applying a protective barrier around your gums, and then we’ll apply the specially formulated high strength whitening gel to each tooth. The gel is activated with a special light during three, 15-minute treatment intervals, and we’ll finish with a fluoride treatment designed to reduce any sensitivity you may experience. The results are phenomenal, and you’ll enjoy a smile that is 6-10 shades lighter almost immediately.

TAKE-HOME WHITENING GIVES YOU FREEDOM

Patients who would like to whiten at their leisure at home can use customized take-home whitening trays that we create using impressions we take of your teeth. Because these trays are designed for your teeth, they fit snugly and protect your soft tissue from injury.

We provide the whitening gel, and you’ll be able to purchase additional gel at our office when you run out. We show you how to safely apply the gel, and then you’ll whiten at home based on your own schedule for about two weeks initially. After you’ve achieved your desired results, you’ll be able to update your smile whenever you like.

Professional whitening offers many benefits that over-the-counter products don’t such as quicker and more effective results due to higher strength gel, and products that are customized for safety rather than a “one-size-fits-all” approach.
